Mission & Vision
The principles that guide everything we do at East Voyager Academy.
Mission Statement
"The mission of East Voyager Academy is to graduate its students with Strong Academics, English-Chinese bilingual proficiency, and Intercultural competence."
Vision Statement
"East Voyager Academy, as a national leader in academic achievement and language immersion education, cultivates global understanding and fosters life-long learning skills to prepare students to become productive, competent, and engaged citizens of the 21st century."
Why Language Immersion, Early
East Voyager Academy recognizes the value of early language immersion. We firmly believe that allowing children the opportunity to learn a second language while they are young not only produces stronger students academically, but also teaches them the value of their global citizenship. Sharing cultures throughout the education process assists students in understanding and respecting the diverse peoples throughout the world.
Core Values
These four values are embedded in every classroom, every interaction, and every decision we make as a school community.
Multilingualism
Language is the bridge between cultures. We believe every child has the capacity to become fluent in multiple languages, and we build that capacity from Kindergarten onward.
Cultural Appreciation
We celebrate Chinese heritage and world cultures not as add-ons, but as integral parts of who our students are becoming. Empathy and curiosity are taught and modeled every day.
Academic Rigor
High expectations for every student, every day. We align with NC State Standards and go beyond - immersion students consistently outperform their peers in reading and math.
Community
We are stronger together. Students, families, teachers, and neighbors are all part of the EVA family. We build trust through transparency, involvement, and belonging.
EVA's Commitments to Families
East Voyager Academy is a public charter school. There is no tuition, no hidden fees for core instruction, and no application fee.
We do not sort, track, or gate students by prior ability. Every student gets access to immersion, enrichment, and rigorous grade-level content.
Families receive timely information about student progress, school events, and governance decisions. Our board meetings are open to the public.
Our teachers are trained to honor each student's background and to build bridges between home culture and the school's multilingual environment.
We study our data, listen to our community, and hold ourselves accountable to getting better every year. NC DPI growth recognition is the result - not the goal.
